HEAT
SHRINKABLE PVC
Heat - Shrinkable Polyvinyl Chloride (
PVC ) is the ideal medium for a wide selection of
labeling, sealing, packaging and decorating applications.
It is the material of choice for tamper - evident sealing and wrapping of
food, drug and
cosmetic products. For decorating and identifying bottles, tubes and cylinders as well as
providing a quick, low cost method of four - colour process decorating of Christmas balls
and other gift items,
shrinkable PVC sleeves, generic containers, molded products, toys,
novelties and gift items can be labeled
or decorated in only those numbers required.
Sub-surface printing protects graphics.
PVC can be bar-coded, batch numbered or serialized; it can be perforated,
"Zone-coated" with adhesive, cut to conform to any shape and requires no protective lamination.

Temperature Characteristics:
Total shrinkage time for an average size PVC band will be approximately 2-3 seconds. The colour and mass of the product over which the band is used will somewhat affect shrink time.
Commonly used production methods for shrinking include heat guns, heat tunnels, and ovens.
Average ambient temperatures of approximately 375 °F in ovens and from heat guns will produce optimum results in most applications. When heat guns are used, simple barriers minimising ambient air currents will usually improve overall efficiency and quality. |
